For International orders, we always weigh your order and get your approval for the shipping costs before charging your credit card. Shipping for an average order of 10 wholesale kids clothing packs (30 multi-item sets of clothing) to Australia costs around US$65, and delivery takes approximately ten to fifteen days.
Notes from Australian Customs Guidelines for internet purchases
"All goods (except for tobacco products and alcoholic beverages) may be imported duty and tax free if their value is $1,000 or less.
Note: However, where there are multiple packages to the same addressee in Australia from a single consignor overseas that arrive at about the same time, then the value of all packages will be combined for duty and tax assessment purposes."
Shipping costs are a problem these days. We're particularly concerned for our friends in Australia, who have been some of our best customers anywhere in the world. We know that you need to be able to make a profit, and rising shipping costs are making this more and more difficult for smaller orders.
The big issue is that even the cheapest shipper will charge a large flat fee for sending a package then a smaller incremental amount as the weight increases. This makes the per-item overhead for smaller shipments far higher than for larger shipments.
We're currently talking with shipping agents in the US and looking for a local shipping agent in Australia to see if we can find a way round this problem. Our plan is to group shipments to Australia together and send them when we have enough for a full pallet - about 400lb which is roughly 25 orders based on average Kids Wholesale Wearhouse order weights.
When we have a full pallet load, we'll ship it to an agent in Australia, who will split the shipment and send the boxes and packages to their final destinations at local Australian shipping rates. You would pay for the local shipping for your order, and a share of the International shipment based on the weight of your order. This will give significant savings over individual shipments.
